Failed attempts at Legoland

I love going to Carlsbad and I was even more happy when I got in early enough to try to go Legoland. Did I mention that I have tried to go 3 times now and it has been closed. (Yes, I know that I should have done a bit more research to see if  they were even open, but I just assumed they would be, silly me.) SO being closed yet again, I have made it my personal goal to go! But I was lucky enough to see a Sponge Bob Lego!
Yes, I have a weird love for Sponge Bob and still watch the show regularly.

Walk along the cliffs in San Luis Obispo.

Beach in San Luis Obispo.

The tide was really low the day I was there so there were tide pools everywhere filled with starfish, crabs and sea anemones.

HUGE Anemone!!

I do have some very exciting news! J and I are going to Japan for my birthday in May for a week! I know, it's crazy that I'm a flight attendant and haven't been to any exciting, out of the country places yet. Well, I went to the Bahamas for Christmas once and landed in Mexico and Canada but was not in either location for longer then 30 minutes so I don't think it counts. SOOO I'm very excited to be going! Also we might be able to catch the last little bit of the cherry blossoms which would be a huge thing for me to witness and would let me cross it off of my bucket list. So any ideas or places we should go there, please let me know!

Palms Springs and Marilyn

I've been lucky this last week! I've spend the last 2 days in Palms Springs relaxing/working. I love this city so much and was happy that I actually got to go out and explore downtown. Whenever I come here (at least 20 times!) I always take the last flight in and first flight out, so I have only seen what's close to my hotel in the dark.

My FAVORITE thing about this city is that it's all MARILYN MONROE! Everywhere you look, there is a statue or picture. If you know anything about me, you know will how utterly obsessed with her I am. She's the tops to me and oozes sex appeal. If I didn't have such dark hair (eyebrows) I would dye my hair and try to look like her in every way. Anyways, here are some pictures of my adventures in Palms Springs.

Cloudy weather! No one wanted to come play!

Wanda Woodward and LA

I'm finally semi settled in at my new location in LA and I am already in love with the area. El Segundo is seriously a little city inside the big city. My mom took my down to the beach, which is only a 5 minute drive from our apartment so I have been taking advantage of my daily exercise right on the beach. I love it out here... and I love being so close to the water.

Working out of the LAX Airport is a new challenge, to say the least. Every airport is different and has specific ways of doing things, so its been interesting getting a hang of the different procedures! In Phoenix, I was seriously spoiled and just had to work one airline with one aircraft. Now in LAX, I am working 5-6 airlines and 4 different air crafts. I will tell you though, as much as everyone HATES the EMB 120, a.k.a Puddle jumper, Clown Car, or really small and loud plane, I had so much fun working that one on my first day. Even though you are constantly bumping into someone or having your hinny in their face ( not that I'm saying I like to do that :) ) it seems like a "closer" flight. Anyway, enough about that and I promise when I get back in to LA, I will start looking into Vintage Shops and see what I can find. ANY recommendations would be awesome!!!

Alright, now onto the vintagey part of the post, I've been thinking a lot about Wanda Woodward from the movie Crybaby. ( BTW, me and my sisters all time favorite movie). I've been EXTREMELY tempted to cut my bangs like hers.... I love them and find they so incredibly sexy... and of course the fire engine red lipstick.

But while looking at these picture, it got me thinking about a new sewing project... I think I will attempt to make her white and red wiggle dress...

Now let's just throw in a damn sexy picture of Johnny Depp for good measure. Yes Johnny, I will have your babies.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Got back to Utah yesterday to finish most of my moving before I start the moving to LA. It's crazy that I will be a LA resident in 6 days... CRAZY! I'll try to do a fun post here in the next couple days once things start to slow down. But here is my baby girl doing what she does best.... relaxing and posing. :)

Also I would LOVE comments from you guys and what you want to see!

Special Shower!

Been busy the last couple days! I was able to do our company's last flight to Guaymas Mexico and got free tacos... Free tacos is always a good thing :) They also had their firetrucks spray their hoses over the plane as we left as a special farewell. I sometimes get alittle loud on my flights and yelled "carwash!" as we went through... I thought I was funny so thats all the matters. Here are some pics and I will try and do a fun post once I catch up on some sleep. BTW met Jamie Foxx today and he is way hotter in person.. just so you know :)

Fire trucks getting ready to spray us down

I know they look mean but they are super nice even though they hold huge guns.

And this is the crazy person who is flying your plane.... jk

Fun little things...

Ahh.. the life of a flight attendant... One minute you are planning on going to Des Moines for 3 days and then the next you are taken off the trip, left with nothing on your schedule.  So, I decided to go get my hair (dark burgundy, I've been loving the deep red color lately) and my nails done in a fabulous fire engine red.

With the rest of the day free, I went thrift shopping in Downtown Phoenix. And leave it to me to find my new favorite shop a week before I'm suppose to move! One of the shops I went to today was called Antique Sugar. They seriously had some of the most beautiful vintage pieces I have ever seen.

Here are some of the pieces that I found .

1940's Fun beaded hat

1940's Light Pink Silk Nightie

1950's Bright Yellow full skirted dress

And my favorite of all... a 1950's ankle length evening dress. Seriously, the picture does not do it justice and I almost dropped the $400 for it....

Even though I didn't buy any clothing items, I did find something that I have been wanting for years and just haven't been able to find....

An Asian to go Purse! I am in love with this! It was stashed with random other objects and I almost skimmed over it!

Then headed over to a shop called Gertie's. It didn't have a big selection of clothing but I did find a little gem in the back of the shop, a 1950's diner! If you are looking for the best Pumpkin Pie milkshake, this the place to go.

Thrift store shopping is one of my favorite things to do and I was pretty happy with the items that I did purchase. I think I spent a total of $25 for 2 purses and some 1950's hair pins that had never been used.

1950's brown leather bag ($8), Asian to go Purse ($12) and my hair pins ($5)

But sometimes I just can't help myself...

Anything pink and studded, I go weak in the knees for... Also a pic of the Schwinn J got for me :)
